With reference to my Despatch, No 49, of the 1st of December, of December Lytton to Douglas, 1 December 1858, CO 398/1, p. 157. have to acquaint you that the Lords Commissoners of the Treasury have authorised the Paymaster General to accept and pay a Bill for Forty Pounds (£40) drawn by Captain Parsons, R.E. onaccount account of the Royal Engineers proceeding to British Columbia under his charge.
