I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your
Circular Letter of the <date when="1858-09-30">30<hi style="vertical-align: super; font-size: 80%;">th</hi> September 1858</date>, upon the
subject of Letters upon the Military Service of the Imperial
Government passing through Colonial Post Offices free <fw type="catchword" style="text-align: right;">of</fw><pb facs="co_60_04/co_60_04_00078v.jpg"/>of charge.
</p>
<p>
2. With reference thereto I would beg to inform you
that hitherto no Colonial postage has been charged upon any
Letters upon Her Majesty's Service, and care will be
taken to guard against any regulation being hereafter
introduced which would levy postage upon such letters.
