Corry confirms the H.M.S. Tribune is bound for Vancouver Island containing 7 Officers & 160 Non Commissioned Officers & Privates of Royal Marines.

The minutes enclose the letter to the Governor of British Columbia to show that reinforcements are enroute. And they propose to print this document for parliament so that the public at large may know of the steps taken by the Government for affording protection to B. Columbia.

Enclosed is a draft from Lytton to Douglas informing him of the impending arrival of reinforcements; and an extract from Seymour to the Secretary of the Admiralty reporting on the despatch of the Tribune to Vancouver Island.

With reference to my letter of the 15th Ultimo, I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to send you herewith for the information of Secretary Sir E. Bulwer Lytton an Extract from a letter dated the 27th November last, No 416 from R: Adm: Sir M. Seymour, reporting the sailing of H.M.S. Tribune from Hong Kong for Vancouvers Island with 7 Officers & 160 Non Commissioned Officers & Privates of Royal Marines.
