With reference to the letter addressed to you from the
Army Medical Department, numbers and dates as per margin,

and the statement enclosed herewith, I have the honor by
direction of <persName ref="prs:herbert_s">M<hi style="vertical-align: super; font-size: 80%;">r</hi> Secretary Herbert</persName> to request that the sum
of one hundred and sixty five pounds nineteen shillings and
four pence (£165.19.4) may be paid into the hands of the General Agents,
in order that it may be brought to the credit of this Office.

The <orgName ref="org:war_office">War Office</orgName> refer to three letters that have nothing
to do with <placeName ref="plc:british_columbia">B. Columbia</placeName>, but they omit to notice one, dated
<date when="1859-07-04">4 July</date>, enclosing an account for similar medical stores of
£49.19. which has been paid. Perhaps it would be better
before ordering payment, to point this out to the
<orgName ref="org:war_office">War Office</orgName> lest we should pay twice for the same stores.
