I have the honor to acquaint your Grace that I have authorized the Treasurer to procure by Bills on England in the usual manner, the sum of Two Thousand Pounds (£2000) on account of the ParliamentaryGrant Grant for 1863 in aid of expenses incurred by Royal Engineers, and I trust your Grace will be good enough to give the necessary instructions for the Bills presented on this account to be paid when they become due.

Mr Ebden I shdshould like to see a statement of Bills drawn by him for some time past, for B. Columbia, and I would also refer to a despatch written to him not long ago about his draft for specie. TFE 14/5
Mr Ebden Prepare a letter to the Treasury sending them this despatch for their information and recommending that the bills for £2000 therein referred to should, when presented, be accepted and paid. TFE 13 June
Mr Elliot The bills advised for Regimental Pay and Colonial allowances of Royal Engineers between 31 Mch 61 and 31 Mch 62 (Governors dates) amounted to £15000.

Those for the same services advised between 31 Mch 62 and 31 Mch 63 amounted to £12000. The despatches which are noted in the margin are annexed. *

The amount for which the Gov was entitled to draw between 31 Mch 62 and 31 Mch 63 was £11,000, vizt £3,800 for Military Pay. 7,200 Colonial allowance. 11,000 total.
