He is <q>most anxious</q> to receive a gold watch as well as a <q>Tin Cup found at [his son’s] side, with the inscription containing the sad record of the manner in which [his son] met his death.</q> <persName ref="prs:blackwood_aj">Blackwood</persName> minutes that no answer has yet been received from <placeName ref="plc:british_columbia">British Columbia</placeName>.</p>

In <date when="1863-11">November last</date> I made application to your Lordship to make an
inquiry regarding the circumstances attending the death of my son
<persName ref="prs:munro_d">Donald Munro</persName> who was found dead on the banks of the <placeName ref="plc:bear_river">Bear River</placeName>,
<placeName ref="plc:cariboo_region">Cariboo</placeName>, <placeName ref="plc:british_columbia">British Columbia</placeName>; and to take possession of any effects
belonging to him. You informed<fw type="catchword" style="text-align: right;">me</fw><pb facs="co_60_20/co_60_20_00353v.jpg"/> me in reply that you would take the
necessary steps to carry out my request but not having had any
further communication on the subject I think it right to remind you
in the matter in order to [carry out] a full and complete
investigation. I am informed by a friend and companion of the
deceaseds that he had on his person a Gold Watch and I am naturally
most anxious that that article as well as the Tin Cup found at his
side, with the inscription containing the sad record of the manner in
which he met his death, should come into my hands.
