The Lords Commissoners of Her Majesty's Treasury have had before them your letter of 25th September last, enclosing Financial Returns of the Government of British Columbia for the Quarter to 31st March 1865.

Their Lordships desire me to request that you will state to Mr Secretary Cardwell that They observe that, in the General Abstract of transactions at the Treasury, the amount stated as received under the head of "Revenue from Collectors" is £958.11.4, whereas it would appear from previous Returns, that the sums received underthis this head were as follows—vizt Quarter to 30th June 1864 £16781. " " 30th September " 13564. " " 31st December " 16421.

Their Lordships would suggest that the Governor should be called upon to furnish some explanation as to the apparent falling off of the Revenue under this head for the Quarter to 31st March last.
