Seymour forwards a letter from Young setting forth his views as to the Correct interpretation of the Boundary Treaty of 1846. Seymour describes Young’s views as being identical to Seymour’s views on the Boundary Treaty of 1846, which Seymour expressed to Carnarvon and the Colonial Office. Elliot minutes that Seymour’s despatch should be sent to the Foreign Office for ‘information’.

At the request of Mr William A.G. Young, late Colonial Secretary of Vancouver Island, I have the honor to submit to your Lordship the accompanying lettersetting setting forth his views as to the Correct interpretation of the Boundary Treaty of 1846.

2. I will only now say that the views here explained are identical with those I had the honor to express verbally to your Lordship and to more than one Gentleman belonging to the Colonial Office.
