Seymour forwards a reply from the Auditor to the enquiries from the Lords Commissioner's of the Treasury respecting the Crown Fund of Vancouver Island and reflects on the reply’s impact. Elliot’s minute confirms that Robinson should forward to the Treasury for consideration with reference to [the Treasury’s] letter of the 27 Decr.

I have the honor to forward a reply from the Auditor to the enquiries from the Lords Commissioner's of the Treasury respectingthe the Crown Fund of Vancouver Island, transmitted in the Earl of Carnarvon's despatch No. 4 of 8th January.

2. I trust that their Lordship's will not think it necessary to disturb the arrangement made by Governor Kennedy and which works satisfactorily.
