<p>
I transmit to you herewith a letter and enclosures received from
the Colonial Secretary of <placeName ref="plc:british_columbia">British Columbia</placeName> making requisition for
Stationery for the use of the Government of that Colony.
</p>
<p>
The Stationery has been supplied through H.M. Stationery Office
at a cost of £403.4.6 exclusive of freight, insurance and incidental
charges, and I have now the honor to apply for His Grace's Sanction
for incurring that Expenditure.
</p>
<p>
The sanction of the Secretary<fw type="catchword" style="text-align: right;">of</fw><pb facs="co_60_30/co_60_30_00112v.jpg"/> of State should have been obtained
before the Requisition was sent on to H.M. Stationery Office, the
ommission to do so was an oversight which the <orgName ref="org:ocac">Crown Agents</orgName> regret.
</p>
<p>
The <placeName ref="plc:british_columbia">British Columbia</placeName> Account has at present a credit of £1350
besides Bills for £5000, maturing shortly, and though the liabilities
are more than these assets, the account as regards this Office is in
a more satisfactory state than it has been for some years past.
