the Governor of <placeName ref="plc:british_columbia">British Columbia</placeName> to the <persName ref="prs:carnarvon">Earl of Carnarvon</persName>
dated <placeName ref="plc:new_westminster">New Westminster</placeName> <date when="1867-02-02">2 February 1867</date> on <name type="ip" subtype="group">the subject of the sale of
spirituous liquors to the Indians</name>, and I have to request that you will
convey to His Grace the <persName ref="prs:grenville_r">Duke of Buckingham and Chandos</persName> the thanks of
the Committee of the <orgName ref="org:hbc">Hudson's Bay Company</orgName> for the communication.
