<persName ref="prs:trevor_cc">Trevor</persName> states that the <orgName ref="org:board_trade">Board of Trade</orgName> is <q>not aware that any portion of … a Requisition for Lighthouse stores for <placeName ref="plc:vancouver_island">Vancouver's Island</placeName>, made in <date when="1865-04">April 1865</date> … was not complied with</q> and refers to a letter describing the stores being shipped on the <name ref="vsl:severn" type="vessel">Severn</name> to <placeName ref="plc:vancouver_island">Vancouver Island</placeName> with the Bill of Lading. <persName ref="prs:robinson_w">Robinson</persName> minutes that <q>The Bill of Lading appears to have been sent out of the office in <date when="1865">1865</date> &amp; no copy of it kept.</q> <persName ref="prs:rogers_f">Rogers</persName>’s minute discusses how to respond to the <orgName ref="org:board_trade">Board of Trade</orgName> and whether to contact <persName ref="prs:seymour_f">Seymour</persName> in British Columbia. <persName ref="prs:rogers_f">Rogers</persName> further minutes that drafts regarding lighthouse stores have been annexed and the details of stores requested.

I am directed by the <orgName ref="org:board_trade">Board of Trade</orgName> to acknowledge your letter
of the <date when="1867-09-13">13<hi style="vertical-align: super; font-size: 80%;">th</hi> Ultimo</date> stating that a Requisition for Lighthouse
stores for <placeName ref="plc:vancouver_island">Vancouver's Island</placeName>, made in <date when="1865-04">April 1865</date> has only been
partially complied with, and in reply to refer you, for the information
of His Grace the <persName ref="prs:grenville_r">Duke of Buckingham and Chando</persName>s, to the letter from
this Department of the <date when="1865-08-28">28<hi style="vertical-align: super; font-size: 80%;">th</hi> August 1865</date> forwarding a Bill of Lading
for Stores shipped in the "Severn;" 500 galls. of oil, and the stores
included in the requisition to<fw type="catchword" style="text-align: right;">the</fw><pb facs="co_60_31/co_60_31_00010r.jpg"/> the <orgName ref="org:ocac">Crown Agents</orgName>, which was transmitted
to this Board in the letter from the <orgName ref="org:colonial_office">Colonial Office</orgName> of the <date when="1865-07-15">15<hi style="vertical-align: super; font-size: 80%;">th</hi>
July 1865</date>, were forwarded to the Governor of <placeName ref="plc:vancouver_island">Vancouvers Island</placeName> in the
"Severn" and entered on the Bill of lading. I am to add that this
Board are not aware that any portion of the requisition was not
complied with.

The requisition is on 6393 <placeName ref="plc:vancouver_island">V.C.I.</placeName> The Bill of Lading <choice><abbr>w<hi style="vertical-align: super; font-size: 80%;">h</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> I
have seen simply mentions "77 cans oil, 1 Case Stores, 2
Cases stained glass."
