<persName ref="prs:hamilton_ga">Hamilton</persName> states that the Paymaster General will pay the <orgName ref="org:ocac">Crown Agents</orgName>, on behalf of <placeName ref="plc:british_columbia">British Columbia</placeName>, the amount owed to Messrs. <persName ref="prs:clark_messr">Clark</persName> and <persName ref="prs:skinner">Skinner</persName>, <q>as compensation for the premature termination of their Contract for the supply of meat to the troops stationed at <placeName ref="plc:new_westminster">New Westminster</placeName> in <date when="1863">1863</date>.</q> <persName ref="prs:rogers_f">Rogers</persName> minutes approval for <persName ref="prs:robinson_w">Robinson</persName> to acknowledge receipt of the despatch and inform Seymour that the <orgName ref="org:ocac">Crown Agents</orgName> will be reimbursed on behalf of <placeName ref="plc:british_columbia">British Columbia</placeName>.

In reply to <persName ref="prs:elliot_tf">M<hi style="vertical-align: super; font-size: 80%;">r</hi> Elliot</persName>'s letter of <date when="1867-09-06">6<hi style="vertical-align: super; font-size: 80%;">th</hi> Instant</date>, I am
commanded by the <orgName ref="org:treasury">Lords Commissoners of Her Majesty's Treasury</orgName> to
acquaint you that the Paymaster General has been authorized to
pay to the account at the Bank of England, of the <orgName ref="org:ocac">Crown Agents</orgName> for
the Colonies, the sum of £568, in repayment of the amount paid by
the Government of <placeName ref="plc:british_columbia">British Columbia</placeName> to Messrs. <persName ref="prs:clark_messr">Clark</persName> and <persName ref="prs:skinner">Skinner</persName>, as
compensation for the premature termination of their Contract for the
supply of meat to the troops stationed at <placeName ref="plc:new_westminster">New Westminster</placeName> in <date when="1863">1863</date>.
