Seymour encloses a letter from British Columbia’s attorney general stating that British Columbia adheres to Imperial Statutes regarding Treason. Holland’s minute confirms that an 1867 British Columbia ordinance extended The Treason Felony Act across the colony.

I have had the honor to receive Your Grace's Circular despatch of the 11th of December directing that the Law of this Colony respecting Treasonable Offences shouldbe be assimilated to that of the Mother Country.

2. I enclose a letter from the Attorney General from which it will appear that the Imperial Statutes regarding Treason Felony extend over this Colony.
