Seymour forwards correspondence between Seymour and Naval Authorities on San Juan Island regarding expenditures needed to provide adequate accommodation for troops on San Juan Island. Cox’s minute summarizes the forwarded correspondence and suggests sending the despatch to the Treasury. I have the honor to forward, herewith, to Your Grace copy of a correspondence which has taken place between the Colonial Government andthe the Naval Authorities on this Station relative to certain works of construction and repair that had become necessary at the British Station on the Island of San Juan in order properly to provide for the due accommodation of the Troops stationed there.

2. The correspondence explains itself, but I may state that every care has been taken to restrict theExpenditure Expenditure to the lowest limit consistent with actual requirements, and I trust Your Grace will approve my action in the matter.
