<persName ref="prs:seymour_f">Seymour</persName> forwards <q>a letter of apology from the Attorney General [of <placeName ref="plc:british_columbia">British Columbia</placeName>] for the delay</q> in sending the legal reports on <placeName ref="plc:british_columbia">British Columbia</placeName>’s ordinances to <persName ref="prs:seymour_f">Seymour</persName>. <persName ref="prs:seymour_f">Seymour</persName> relates why this and other factors have caused a delay in <persName ref="prs:seymour_f">Seymour</persName> transmitting <placeName ref="plc:british_columbia">British Columbia</placeName>’s ordinances to the <orgName ref="org:colonial_office">Colonial Office</orgName>. <persName ref="prs:holland_ht">Holland</persName>’s minute recommends acknowledging <persName ref="prs:seymour_f">Seymour</persName>’s despatch.

I have the honor to forward to Your Grace copy of a letter of
apology from the Attorney General for the delay which has<fw type="catchword" style="text-align: right;">occurred</fw><pb facs="co_60_33/co_60_33_00132v.jpg"/>
occurred in the transmission to me of his legal reports on the
Ordinances of the last Session of the Legislature.
</p>
<p>
2. I hope that <persName ref="prs:crease">M<hi style="vertical-align: super; font-size: 80%;">r</hi> Crease</persName>'s explanation will be held to be
satisfactory both for him and for me. I cannot send on the
Ordinances without his reports, and I know that he has been very
unwell. Every day I feel the inconvenience of the
confusion in which the<fw type="catchword" style="text-align: right;">Public</fw><pb facs="co_60_33/co_60_33_00133r.jpg"/> Public
Officers and their records have been thrown by the removal of
the Seat of Government. Things are however beginning to settle
down a little.
