In reply to your Letter of the 26th ultimo transmitting copy of a Despatch from the Governor of British Columbia relative to the question of granting assistance to the Vancouver's Island Dock Company for the work which they propose to undertake, I am commanded by my Lords Comissionersof of the Admiralty to acquaint you, for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that they will be prepared, should the construction of the Dock be decided upon, to extend the provisions of the Colonial Docks Loan Act, when revised, to the Undertaking.
