With reference to my letter of the <date when="1867-11-13">13<hi style="vertical-align: super; font-size: 80%;">th</hi> November last</date> on the
subject of the repeal of the 163<hi style="vertical-align: super; font-size: 80%;">rd</hi> and 328<hi style="vertical-align: super; font-size: 80%;">th</hi> sections of the
16 and 17 <placeName ref="plc:victoria">Victoria</placeName> C. 107, I am directed by the Lords of the
Committee of Privy Council for Trade to request that you will
state to the <persName ref="prs:grenville_r">Duke of Buckingham and Chandos</persName> that if His Grace
concurs with them in<fw type="catchword" style="text-align: right;">thinking</fw><pb facs="co_60_34/co_60_34_00352v.jpg"/> thinking that course desirable, a favorable
opportunity will present itself in connection with the
Consolidation of the Merchant Shipping Acts now in course of
preparation in this Department, and that My Lords will therefore
be glad to be favored with His Grace's views on this subject at
his early convenience.
