Columbia</placeName> Loans…in Colonial Securities.</q> <persName ref="prs:cox_c">Cox</persName>’s minute suggests referring <q>the Governors despatch 3373 to the Agents for opinion.</q>

The <orgName ref="org:treasury">Lords Commissoners of Her Majesty's Treasury</orgName> have had
before Them your letter of the <date when="1868-04-16">16 Inst</date>, inclosing
Despatch from the Governor of <placeName ref="plc:british_columbia">British Columbia</placeName>, in which
he suggests that the Sinking Fund of the <placeName ref="plc:british_columbia">B. Columbia</placeName> Loans
should be invested in Colonial Securities, now below par.
</p>
<p>
My Lords desire me to state, for the information of the <persName ref="prs:grenville_r">Duke of
Buckingham &amp; Chandos</persName>, that before they express any opinion as to
the desireableness of the investment<fw type="catchword" style="text-align: right;">as</fw><pb facs="co_60_34/co_60_34_00374v.jpg"/> as proposed, They would be
glad to have the opinion of the <orgName ref="org:ocac">Crown Agents</orgName> with reference to
the Correspondence which took place in <date when="1865">1865</date>.
