I transmit to you a copy of a letter from the Board of Admiralty requesting that the Naval Vote may be relieved of the charge imposed upon it by the employment on board the "Sparrowhawk" of an interpreter when that Vessel was sent to visit the Northern Part of Vancouvers Islandto to make enquiries respecting murders which had been committed by the Indians.

I have to instruct you to remit the amount to the Crown Agents for payment to the Admiralty.
