I deferred my reply to your Lordships Circular Despatch of the
<date when="1870-02-25">25<hi style="vertical-align: super; font-size: 80%;">th</hi> February last</date>, while the Land Registry Ordinance passed
during the last Session of the Legislature was under preparation
and consideration.
</p>
<p>
2. The Attorney General's Report upon that measure, enclosed
with it in my Despatch No. 86 of the <date when="1870-07-11">11<hi style="vertical-align: super; font-size: 80%;">th</hi> July</date> will afford
the information which was<fw type="catchword" style="text-align: right;">sought</fw><pb facs="co_60_39/co_60_39_00280v.jpg"/> sought upon the points mentioned in Your
Lordship's Circular; but I now also forward a Memorandum
prepared by <persName ref="prs:alston_e">M<hi style="vertical-align: super; font-size: 80%;">r</hi> Alston</persName> the Registrar General of Titles, more
especially replying to the Queries put by Your Lordship.
