With reference to your letter of the 18th inst authorizing the issue of half Salary at £75 per annum from the 10th May to the 30th June ultimo to Mr G. Williams of British Columbia, I have to state that the Crown Agents were instructed by the local Government, by a letter dated 13th May last, to pay Mr Williams for 6 months to the 10th November next at the rate of £8.4.11 1/2 per month, and that they have already paid him two months to the 10th instant. *

Under the circumstances the Crown Agents request to be furnished with the Earl of Kimberley's instructions for their future guidance in this matter.
