<p><persName ref="prs:hamilton_wab">Hamilton</persName> forwards to <persName ref="prs:merivale_h">Merivale</persName>, for the information of <persName ref="prs:grey_hg">Grey</persName>, a copy of a letter from <persName ref="prs:moresby">Moresby</persName>, which discusses the <q>State of Affairs</q> on <placeName ref="plc:vancouver_island">Vancouver Island</placeName>.</p>
<p>The minutes agree to send copies of the letters to the <orgName ref="org:hbc">HBC</orgName>.</p>
<p>The first of the included documents is a draft letter from the <orgName ref="org:colonial_office">Colonial Office</orgName> to <persName ref="prs:pelly_jh">Pelly</persName>, forwarding copies of enclosed letters; the second is a letter from <persName ref="prs:moresby">Moresby</persName> to <orgName ref="org:admiralty">Admiralty</orgName>, which reports on <persName ref="prs:moresby">Moresby</persName>'s arrival to <placeName ref="plc:vancouver_island">Vancouver Island</placeName> and the murder of three British seamen; the third is a letter from <persName ref="prs:moresby">Moresby</persName> to <persName ref="prs:blanshard">Blanshard</persName>, which reports on the murders; and the final enclosure is a letter from <persName ref="prs:blanshard">Blanshard</persName> to <persName ref="prs:moresby">Moresby</persName>, which reports on, among other things, the fragile security at <placeName ref="plc:fort_rupert">Fort Rupert</placeName>.</p>
