<p>
 CO staff specify that the documents are the <q>Books you thought [would] be of use to the Governor in establishing rules for the Supreme Court.</q>

I am directed by the Governor of the <orgName ref="org:hbc">Hudson's Bay Company</orgName> to
acknowledge the receipt of your letter of yesterday's date, with the
accompanying Bag of Documents to the address of the Governor of
<placeName ref="plc:vancouver_island">Vancouver's Island</placeName>, and to acquaint you that the Bag will be forwarded
as requested, to <persName ref="prs:douglas_j">Governor Douglas</persName> by the <orgName ref="org:hbc">Hudson's Bay Company</orgName>'s first
vessel for <placeName ref="plc:vancouver_island">Vancouver's Island</placeName>.
</p>
<p>
I beg however to mention that the Company will not dispatch any
vessel to that quarter before the end of <date when="1856-07">July</date>.
