I have the honour to enclose for your information Extract of a letter lately received from Governor Douglas, dated Victoria, Vancouver's Island October 7th 1857 on the subject of the change in the terms of payment for Land in that Colony, as sanctioned by Her Majesty's Government, which appears to be working satisfactorily.
