<p><persName ref="prs:hawes_b">Hawes</persName> forwards to the CO a letter with enclosures from <persName ref="prs:douglas_j">Douglas</persName> concerning the construction of buildings to accommodate the North American Boundary Surveying Expedition.</p>

<p>The minutes attach the accompanying notes from <persName ref="prs:talbot_c">Talbot</persName> and <q>put it by.</q> <persName ref="prs:talbot_c">Talbot</persName> notes that <persName ref="prs:labouchere_h">Labouchere</persName> <q>has long ceased to be Colonial Minister!</q> He apologizes to the CO for sending an <q>unnecessary</q> packet.</p>

<p>Enclosed is <persName ref="prs:douglas_j">Douglas</persName> to the Under-Secretary of the <orgName ref="org:war_office">War Office</orgName> transmitting vouchers for sums expended in providing accommodation for <persName ref="prs:hawkins_js">Major Hawkins</persName>; <q>Account of Expenses incurred by the <orgName ref="org:hbc">Hudsons Bay Company</orgName>, for the Military Cantonments at <placeName ref="plc:constance_cove">Constance Cove</placeName> <placeName ref="plc:vancouver_island">Vancouvers Island</placeName>;</q> Account of expenses incurred in construction of <placeName ref="plc:constance_cove">Constance Cove</placeName> House with additional accounts signed by <persName ref="prs:munro_af">Alex Munro</persName>, Agent, <orgName ref="org:psac">Puget Sound Agricultural Company</orgName>.</p>

herewith, for the information of <persName ref="prs:labouchere_h">M<hi style="vertical-align: super; font-size: 80%;">r</hi> Secretary Labouchere</persName> copies
of a letter and enclosures which have been received from the
Governor of <placeName ref="plc:vancouver_island">Vancouver's Island</placeName>, regarding certain buildings
which have been erected, under his orders, for the accommodation
of the North American Boundary Surveying Expedition.
