<p>The minutes contact <persName ref="prs:hicks_r">Hicks</persName> to give him the same reply they previously sent.</p>

<p>Enclosed is <persName ref="prs:carnarvon">Carnarvon</persName> to <persName ref="prs:hicks_r">Hicks</persName> advising the memorial had been received, but that it was not possible to offer any situation to <persName ref="prs:smith_wb">Smith</persName> and there was no need for a Post Master in <placeName ref="plc:vancouver_island">Vancouver Island</placeName>.</p>
