Hearing that it was the intention of the Government to establish a Bank in Vancouvers Island I take the liberty of addressing you being desirous of obtaining an appointment to go out there in the capacity of clerk. I am perfectly acquainted with Banking having been in the London & County Bank more than two years. I am twenty years of age, and can have testimonials from the Manager of the London & County Bank here. I am aware that it is very presumptuous in me to thus address you, but I hope you will excuse the liberty I take & have the kindness to inform me to whom I should make my application in order to obtain an appointment.
