With reference to my Predecessor's despatch No. 63 of the 11th May last on the subject of the erection of Lighthouses in Fucas Strait and the Approaches to Esquimalt Harbour.

I transmit for your information and guidance thethe copy of a letter from the Treasury with one from the Board of Trade, relative to the manner in which the payments should be made on this account, and I have to request that you will act in compliance with their Lordships views as signified in this letter.
