Newcastle sends Douglas a letter introducing James Davidson Walker, manager of the Bank of British Columbia. The letter was intended to be delivered by Walker himself. For some reason, it does not appear in either RG7 G8C/3, the received originals for Vancouver Island, or RG7 G8C/10, the received originals for British Columbia.

This letter will be presented to you by Mr. James Davidson Walker who is proceeding to Vancouver Island.

Mr. Walker is going out as Manager of the Chartered Bank of British Columbia, and is recommended to me by the Directors of the Bank at whose request I write this letter. I have no doubt that you will be happy to shew him any attention which you properly can.
