Sir F. Rogers This is the first complete account we have recdreceived from Governor Douglas of the state of the pecuniary affairs of V.C. Island. Up to this time he has kept us quite in the dark.

It appears from the enclosures 1ly that the Crown has a clear revenue of upwards of £6000 a year, and, according to the quarter account ending March last, that that revenue is an improving one. The Civil List we have asked for is £6200. 2ly that GovrGovernor D. has not drawn the salary of £800 a year which the Lre has voted him. Whether he will do so hereafter remains to be seen.
