I have to acknowledge the receipt of duplicate of your Despatch No 21 of the 23rd of September last, acquainting me that you had transmitted a Warrant under the Royal Sign Manual, authorising me to pass letters patent under the Public Seal of British Columbia appointing Mr Haniley [Hamley] to beCollectorManuscript image Collector of Customs, and I beg in reply to state that your instructions will be carried into effect upon Mr Haniley's arrival in this country. 1
