I took the liberty of addressing you with a view that through your Kindness I may be enabled to "vanquish violence by the patient endurance of wrong" under which I am suffering And with my wife [be desired?] to [want?] together with no apparent hope for our Child urges me respectfully to ask if you received my communication complainingof myManuscript image of my misfortunes and praying your most favourable Consideration of my case with a view to obtaining employment in the Colony of New Caledonia under the Government.
