With reference to my despatch of the 1st instant, 1 apprising you that Captain Parsons would proceed at once to British Columbia accompanied by twenty men of the Royal Engineers, I have to acquaint you that the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury have issued to him the Sum of Five hundred pounds (£500), and have given him authorityManuscript image to draw Bills for a further sum of Five hundred pounds (£500) should he find it necessary to enable him to reach his destination.
