I have much pleasure in enclosing to you the copy of a letter which I have received from Captain Shepherd recommending to my notice the name of Colonel PlowdenManuscript image who has recently retired from the Service of the Royal East India Company. Feeling entire confidence in Captain Shepherds judgment, I beg to say, that I shall be prepared to confirm your selection of Colonel Plowden for any appointment in British Columbia in which you may consider that his services can be most advantageously employed for the benefit of the Colony.
