Sir,
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch of the 6 January 1859, No 2, acquainting me that The Queen had been pleased to institute a Court of Vice Admiralty for the Colony of British Columbia andManuscript imageand transmitting to me Her Majesty's Commission constituting me Vice Admiral of the same, and also transmitting Her Majesty's Commission to Mr Matthew Baillie Begbie as Judge of that Court.
2. The Fees required by the High Court of Admiralty upon Mr Begbie's Commission, amounting to £7.8.4, will be obtained from Mr Begbie, and transmitted according to your instructions.
3. I have also received one Copy of the Rules and RegulationsManuscript imageRegulations of the said Court, which shall be duly delivered to Mr Begbie.
