I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of Your Grace's Despatch No 1 of the 23rd June last, respecting an application which I received from Colonel Moody for an allowance to defrayManuscript imagedefray the cost of his passage to British Columbia, and stating in reply to that application that you cannot, for various reasons mentioned in your Despatch, feel at liberty to comply with it, and I will not fail in obedience to Your Grace's instructions, to inform him of your decision.
