With reference to my letter of the 15th Ultimo, I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to send you herewith for the information of Secretary Sir E. Bulwer Lytton an Extract from a letter dated the 27th November last, No 416 from R: Adm: Sir M. Seymour, reporting the sailing of H.M.S. Tribune from Hong Kong for Vancouvers Island with 7 Officers & 160 Non Commissioned Officers & Privates of Royal Marines.

This is satisfactory intelligence & I think it wd be as well to forward the extract wh Manuscript imageis enclosed in this letter from the Admiralty to the Govr of B. Columbia to show him that this reinforcement is already on its way to V. Couver's I.
