Sir,
The Lords Commissioners of Her Majestys Treasury desire me to acquaint you, for the information of the Duke of Newcastle, that they have given directions for the acceptance of Bills drawn by the Governor of British Columbia for the amount of £5.000. to enable Colonel Moody to meet the difficulty occasioned by the loss of the "Briseis" laden with stores for the Engineers, as requested in your letter of 9th Instant.
