Sir,
In reply to your Letter of the 6th Inst., enclosing a copy of the Despatch from the Governor of British Columbia, submitting a Design for a Postage Stamp for the use of that Colony, I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you, for the information of the Duke of Newcastle, that the Agents General for Crown Colonies have been authorized to procure a Die, and to forward to the Governor ofManuscript imageof British Columbia, one thousand sheets of stamps, according to the Pattern and of a yellow colour, as requested, together with three dozen obliterating Dies, and the other Articles mentioned in the Despatch.
