Sir,
In reply to your letter of 2nd Instant respecting the conveyance of 16 (now 26) Tons of stores to British Columbia;
I am directed by Mr Secretary Herbert to acquaint you for the information of His Grace the Duke of Newcastle that directions have been given for the insurance of the stores, and to request that the Colonial Agent may be authorized to communicate with the Principal Military Storekeeper at the Tower on the subject, as it is essential that the measure should beManuscript imagebe carried out under his directions.
