Begbie to Lytton
4, Mansion House Place
London
3rd Feby 1859 The Right Honorable Sir Edward Bulwer Lytton Colonial Office Downing Street

Sir,
My Brother, Judge Begbie of British Columbia, has requested me to send out to him immediately some law Books of which I append a list. As I understand Governor Douglas has sent home a list of books to be sent out to the Colony, and as I am not aware whether the books I name are included in that list, I do not purchase them without enquiry. & may I venture to suggest that they be added to Governor Douglas' list & dispatched forthwith as the Judge lays much stress on having them and without delay.
I have the honor to be Sir,
Your Obedient humble Servt
Thos Stirling Begbie

I think it would be desirable to add these works to the List the Agent General has been ordered to send out.
In that List 20 copies of Burn's justice are named. They will cost £120, I am informed. Would not half a doz: copies do?

Quite, I think. Add these books also.
