No. 26
Downing Street,
23 February 1859
Sir,
Adverting to your Despatch, No 8, of the 27th of October last, I transmit to you the following Seals, viz:
1. One Seal for the Supreme Court of Civil Justice of British Columbia.
2. One Seal for the Attorney General.
3. And Six Seals for Officers of Customs.
The Manuscript image
The Cost of these Seals with Appurtenances amounts to Twenty Three Pounds, Sixteen Shillings and Six Pence (£23.16s.6d), to repay which you will remit a like Sum to the Chief Clerk of this Office.
I have not lost sight of the Public Seal for the Colony of British Columbia, the completion of which has been unavoidably retarded by the long illness and death of the Queen's Engraver.
I have the honor to be
Sir,
Your Obedient
humble Servant
