Sir,
I have to acknowledge the receipt of your despatch No 42 of the 4th December last transmitting copies of two proclamations issued by you, the first conferring on yourself and your successors the power to convey Crown Lands within the ColonyManuscript image of British Columbia; the second imposing duties on Imports into British Columbia.
I have laid these Proclamations before the Queen, and I am commanded to acquaint you that Her Majesty has been pleased to approve them.
