I transmit to you herewith the Copy of a letter from the Hudson's Bay Company and of the answer which I have caused to be returned to it respecting the employment of the Reverend Edward Cridge as Chaplain in Vancouver's Island. I have to request that you will submittoManuscript image to the decision of the Legislature of the Island, the proposal of Mr Cridge to enter into a fresh agreement to act in this capacity.
