Adverting to your Despatch of the 7th September 1859 No 20 respecting the sums drawn from the Imperial Treasury to liquidate Manuscript image liquidate the Regimental Pay due to the detachment of Royal Engineers in British Columbia I have the honor to enclose herewith to your Grace copy of a letter from the Colonial Treasurer dated 30th May containing a statement of the amounts drawn and issued up to date upon that account and requesting authority to Manuscript image to obtain the sum of One thousand Pounds (£1000) to cover the present excess of issue over drafts. I have therefore authorised the Treasurer to draw for the said sum in the usual manner for this service, and I request your Grace will be pleased to obtain the necessary authority from the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury for the Bills presented on this account to Manuscript image to be paid when they become due.
