My Lord Duke,
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Grace's despatch No. 27, of the 25th May, relative to the proposed formation of a settlement for Indian converts to Christianity Manuscript image Christianity, and I observe with much satisfaction that your Grace has been pleased to sanction the reserve of several hundred acres of land in the neighbourhood of Fort Simpson, for the use and benefit of the Indians, subject to certain stipulations which I shall cause Manuscript image cause to be observed.
