I have received from Lord Palmerston a letter addressed to his Lordship from Mr P. Cadell dated Fort Victoria Vancouver Island the 2nd of May 1860, applying for the appointment of Superintendent of the Mining Department inManuscript imagein British Columbia.
You will have the goodness to inform Mr Cadell in answer to his application that there is no situation to which I am able to appoint him.
