Despatch to London. Minutes (2).
Douglas writes to Newcastle to acknowledge Newcastle's former despatch, which contained a memorandum from Ffennell on the protection of BC's salmon fisheries. Further, Douglas reports his recent receipt of the “Fishery Act and Reports.”

Sir,
I have the honor of acknowledging the receipt of Your Grace's Despatch No 77 of the 9th May last, enclosing a memorandum from Mr Ffennell on the subject of the protection of the Salmon Fisheries ofBritishManuscript image British Columbia, and a subsequent correspondence with that gentleman.
I have also lately received the Fishery Act and official Reports bearing upon the matter in which Your Grace requested the Governor of Canada to send to me.
I have to thank Your Grace for those valuable documents, which afford so much useful informationonManuscript image on the methods of preserving and regulating Fisheries.
