Richards writes to the Under-Secretary of State, Fortescue at this time, to confirm Good's booking for a passage to Colon on a “Mail Steam Packet,” which departs Southampton on January 17, 1861.
The first of the two documents included in the file is a letter from Good to Jadis, wherein Good advises of his intentions to depart for Colon on January 17; the second is a draft letter from Elliot to Good, which confirms that Good's passage has been ordered.

I beg to acquaint you, for the information of the Secretary of State in answer to your Letter of the 28th Ultimo that passage to Colon for the Revd J.B. Good has been ordered on board the Contract Mail Steam Packet, which will leave Southampton on the 17th Instant.
